Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, held a meeting with the directors of the General Directorate of Academic Subjects Development to review the mechanisms for developing curricula for students with visual impairments in a way that suits their circumstances, with the aim of investing their energies and employing their other senses without prejudice to learning outcomes.
Dr. Reda Hegazy stressed that the political leadership has a great interest in providing all means of support for people with special needs, noting that the ministry places at the top of its priorities taking all necessary measures to educate and prepare people with visual impairments in particular and people with special needs in general, in order to facilitate their lives, participation and integration into society. Society.
Dr. Reda Hijazi pointed out the importance of developing the academic content of science and mathematics for people with visual disabilities, which includes some educational activities and treatments that are not commensurate with their disabilities, stressing the importance of developing the curricula of the two subjects to rely on auditory perception instead of visual perception in order to receive concepts that enable them to practice learning. smoothly and conveniently.
Dr. Al-Wazir directed the formation of a committee chaired by Dr. Akram Hassan, Head of the Central Administration for Curriculum Development, with the membership of the curriculum specialists, with the participation of general directors of science and mathematics development, and the supervision of the Director General of Special Education, in order to develop and address activities related to the curricula of schools with visual disabilities for the "fourth, fifth and sixth" grades. primary school, preparatory school curricula and the first secondary grade, stressing the importance of the treatment being systematic according to their standards.
This came in the presence of Dr. Akram Hassan, Head of the Central Administration for Curriculum Development, Dr. Sahar Al Alfy, Director General of Special Education, Dr. Aziza Rajab, Director General of Science Development, and Ms. Manal Azqoul, Acting Director General of Mathematics Development.
