The Minister of Education participates in the activities of the first vocational training conference
Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, participated today in the activities of the first vocational training conference under the title “Vocational 2030” project to develop the vocational training system at the state level, which is organized by the Ministry of Labor under the patronage of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister.
This came in the presence of Hassan Shehata, Minister of Labour, Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, Minister of Planning, Dr. Mohamed Maait, Minister of Finance, Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Public Business Sector, Dr. Saleh Al-Sheikh, Head of the Central Agency for Organization and Administration, Mohamed Gibran, President of the Federation of Egyptian Trade Unions, and Engineer Mohamed Zaki Al-Suwaidi, President. In his speech, Dr. Reda Hegazy expressed his happiness at attending the first vocational training conference, under the title of the “Vocational 2030” project, which aims to provide new horizons for developing vocational and technical training in line with the requirements of the labor market to reach globalization and leadership in various fields. This conference is organized Within the framework of the vision of the political leadership, and the state’s comprehensive plan to reform and develop technical education, and open new horizons for the local and international labor market and investment in people, it also comes within the framework of the Egyptian state’s vision to develop technical education, in accordance with the latest recognized international systems and programmes, ensuring the qualification of qualified graduates in The highest levels, and in accordance with the requirements of the local and international labor market, in partnership with international expertise in developing curricula, developing and training teachers, and setting quality standards for accrediting institutions and programs to ensure the quality of technical education graduates.
It is worth noting that the first vocational training conference comes to discuss vocational training issues and policies in Egypt with the participation of government officials concerned with vocational training and technical and technical education, and the sharing of the visions of representatives of workers and business owners, in addition to building effective partnerships between the training bodies concerned with developing the vocational and technical education and training sector in a way that reflects positively. Dr. Reda Hegazy said that today’s event is related to all sectors of the state, especially education, pointing out that in light of digital transformation, industrial revolutions, and artificial intelligence, jobs will change in the future, which requires changing competencies and competencies in the teaching process, and from here comes the importance of the vocational training system and what it contains. The Minister of Education indicated that the Ministry’s strategic plan 2024/2029 was launched from government programs, and one of its primary goals is employment and achieving sustainable development goals. The Ministry also launched its strategic plan to develop technical education, explaining that technical education was facing a number of problems in the past, including numbers The large number of students, the tendency of teaching to be theoretical, and the lack of skills and competencies necessary for the labor market, so the Ministry of Education and Technical Education involved business owners in a model of distinguished schools that led to a change in the mental image of technical education, and this is due to several reasons, namely that these schools are attended by students. Students who graduate from these schools have high grades in the preparatory school certificate and are booked to work before they graduate. In addition, opportunities are available for them to enroll in technological universities without an equivalency.
The Minister said that the number of applied technology schools has now reached 71 schools thanks to the partnership with business owners, and the Ministry is seeking to expand their numbers as a result of the great demand for them. The Ministry is also implementing a competency system in 1,300 schools, and these competencies include cognitive and skill components, and business owners also participate in evaluating Students of these schools.
Dr. Reda Hegazy thanked the Minister of Labor for his invitation to this important event, noting that the Ministry of Education is in the process of signing a protocol with the Ministry of Labor to train and qualify technical education students, develop competencies, improve the quality of Egyptian labor in local and international markets, and enhance opportunities for obtaining high-quality jobs. Stressing that training is an integral part of the education process and must be in line with the changing labor market skills.
The Minister of Education also stressed that we must keep pace with development and the ability to change, and enable students to search for and employ information and knowledge, not memorization and memorization, stressing the Ministry’s keenness to develop students’ cognitive and life skills, as well as the ability to bear responsibility, within the strategic plan for developing education. Dr. Reda Hegazy also indicated that the vision of developing technical education was carried out in accordance with the latest recognized systems, indicating that we care about technical education because it is linked to the economy and the development of technical and vocational skills for our students.
