he Ministry of Education opens the Schools Sports Championship under the slogan “We Build a Champion...We Achieve Hope

Under the patronage of Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and Dr. Mohamed Al-Zamlot, Governor of the New Valley, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education launched the Schools Sports Championship Competition under the slogan “We Build a Champion...We Achieve Hope” in the period from February 5 to February 8, 2024 in the Valley Governorate. The new, under the supervision and follow-up of Dr. Akram Hassan, Head of the Central Administration for Curriculum Development, and Dr. Mona Yahya, Advisor to the Minister for the Development of Physical and Military Education.

A number of 700 male and female players from 22 schools in the governorates of (Cairo, Alexandria, Port Said, Giza, Qalyubia, Sharqia, Menoufia, Fayoum, Beni Suef, Assiut, Sohag, Minya, and Luxor) are participating in the tournament.

School sports champions, boys and girls, compete in group sports competitions (football, basketball, handball, hockey, individual games, karate, wrestling, athletics, 100-meter sprint, 100-meter long jump, and shot put).

It is noteworthy that a technical meeting was held for the tournament’s organizing body, in the presence of Engineer Sayed Abdel Aziz, Director of the New Valley Education Directorate, and the directorate’s work teams. Draws were made and group matches were determined for the collective and individual teams of the competing teams.

The tournament will see the winning teams in the group and individual games being crowned with cups, medals and certificates of appreciation, in addition to the championship cup for the school that ranked first overall in the individual and team competitions at the tournament level.
