The Minister of Education announces the start of activating the role of the Social Welfare Fund
Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, chaired today the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Social Welfare Fund for Teachers; to start activating the role of the fund and the privileges it provides; to improve the financial conditions of teachers and their assistants, and to discuss the regulations governing the fund.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister congratulated all Egyptian teachers on the occasion of World Teachers' Day, stressing that the teacher is the foundation and most important element of the educational process and the foundation of Egypt's future, noting that Egypt's teachers contribute to building the future of the country and its progress and preparing generations to lead the future, saying: "We all have a conviction in the importance of our teachers being in the best condition, in addition to providing a good class, a good teacher, and a good educational environment, and every effort is being made to achieve this."
During the meeting, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif announced the start of activating the role of the Social Welfare Fund for teachers in educational professions and their assistants in education and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, which coincides with the celebration of World Teachers' Day, as the whole world celebrates this great occasion in recognition of the teacher's kindness for the efforts he makes for the elevation and advancement of nations.
The Minister stressed that activating the role of the Fund is the first step that confirms his great keenness to advance and improve the social level of teachers and administrators in education and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and to support their social status, and comes from the start and belief in the role of the teacher in the advancement and progress of society, as he is the pillar of building nations and civilizations, in addition to enhancing the spirit of belonging to their great profession, and implementing the comprehensive development plan sought by the Egyptian government.
In this context, the Minister indicated that all directorates and educational administrations and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif have been addressed to receive requests for services provided to beneficiaries of the Fund's privileges and those subject to Law (212) of 2020 from teachers and administrators working in the educational field in education and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif.
The Minister explained that through this fund, we aim to provide the necessary services to teachers to continue their efforts in strengthening and developing the education system, by providing additional benefits and advantages that enhance their financial stability and improve their social status.
This was attended by Khalaf Al-Zanati, Head of the Teachers Syndicate and President of the Arab Teachers Union, Brigadier General Tariq Al-Baz, Executive Director of the Fund and Head of the Central Administration for Educational Centers and Complexes, Dr. Ahmed Khalifa, representing the Undersecretary of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Counselor Sayed Abdullah Ammar, Head of the Fatwa Department of the Ministries of Education and Higher Education (representing the State Council), Dr. Ahmed Sayed Hassan, representing the Minister of Finance, Dr. Rania Ezzat, representing the Minister of Social Solidarity, Sayed Al-Badawi Abdel Rahman, Financial Expert at the Fund for Supporting, Financing, Managing and Constructing Educational Projects, Walid Maher, Director General of the General Administration for Political Communication and Parliamentary Affairs, Khaled Ibrahim, Director General of Model Education at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Yahya Abdel Moneim, Director General of Al-Azhar Budget, Dr. Rafat Eid Asr, Actuarial Expert, and Ahmed Abdel Quddous, Director of the General Administration of the Teachers Care Fund.
It is worth noting that the Social Welfare Fund for Teachers in Educational Professions and Their Assistants in Education and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif is an initiative established by a decision of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, with the aim of improving the financial and social conditions of teachers and their assistants in the fields of education and Al-Azhar. The Fund has a legal personality and is affiliated with the Prime Minister and aims to provide numerous insurance and social benefits to its members.
