Today, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education held the closing ceremony of the national competition for top students (third secondary grade) for the academic year 2022/2023, which is organized by the General Union of Students of Republic Schools during the period from 2/11/2023 to 3/1/2023, under the auspices of Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and through the Central Administration for General Education, the General Administration for Secondary Education, and the Central Administration for Curriculum Development, in coordination with the General Union of Students of Republic Schools.

In her speech, Dr. Randa Shaheen, Head of the Central Administration for Public Education, thanked everyone who contributed to the success of this competition and those in charge of its implementation, stressing that success is through team work and not individual, and that she is proud of the excellence of the students participating in the competition, their eloquence, self-confidence and emotional stability. She instructed them to be faithful to work, and to transfer their experiences to their colleagues, wishing them to reach the position that befits them, keeping pace with the times, and facing future challenges to prepare them to compete globally.

Ahmed Moussa, Major General of the School Students Union, confirmed that the competition came out of the state’s keenness, its future vision, and the requirements of the new republic, that investing in building the Egyptian person is the highest degree of investment, through which the state can rebuild its capabilities, relying on the arms of its students with their multiple skills.

Moussa explained that the competition aims to discover scientific talents and develop capacities, refine academic achievement and critical thinking skills, prepare a generation of students who are academically poor, and stir up the spirit of competition among students, pointing out that the competition was implemented at the level of educational departments and then educational directorates, where the directorates were divided into five sectors, leading to the final liquidation.

Musa added that through the competition, experiences and knowledge were exchanged between students, encouraging them to excel in science, and strengthening the spirit of competition between them based on integrity and transparency, stressing that all participating students won.

At the end of the ceremony, the winners were announced. The Directorate of Education in Kafr El-Sheikh won the first place, the Directorate of Education in the Red Sea occupied the second place, the Directorate of Education in Dakahlia came in the third place, the Directorate of Education in Menoufia came in the fourth place, and the Directorate of Education in Fayoum came in the fifth place. The supervisors and arbitrators of the competition were honored.

This came in the presence of a number of directors and deputies of the winning educational directorates, and directors of general education development.
