Ministers of Higher Education and Education Hold Meeting
Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, held a meeting with Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, to discuss the development of the International Professional Teaching Certificates Project for teachers. This meeting was held within the framework of strengthening institutional cooperation between the two ministries and supporting efforts to enhance teacher competency and build their professional capacities according to the latest international standards.
The meeting addressed ways to develop the content of the professional certificates and the mechanisms for their implementation, in order to meet the needs of the education system, contribute to improving the quality of the educational process, and link continuous professional development for teachers to clear and accredited pathways.
The meeting also discussed organizing a graduation ceremony for the first cohort of teachers who have obtained the professional certificates, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), and with the participation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. This step reflects the importance of the project and its role in supporting the professional development of teachers.
The meeting also discussed procedures for launching the training of the second cohort of teachers, comprising approximately 300 educators, within the framework of the two ministries' shared vision for developing educational personnel and strengthening partnerships in implementing specialized training programs that contribute to achieving educational development goals.
Both sides emphasized the importance of continued joint coordination and expanding professional certification programs to support the development of qualified teachers capable of keeping pace with educational and technological advancements and achieving the state's objectives in education development.
Attending the meeting from the Ministry of Higher Education were Dr. Ayman Farid, Assistant Minister and Head of the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector and Supervisor of the Egyptian National Commission for UNESCO; Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, Media Advisor and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry; and Dr. Rami Magdy, Assistant Secretary-General of the Egyptian National Commission for UNESCO.
Attending the meeting from the Ministry of Education were Dr. Ahmed Daher, Deputy Minister; Dr. Ahmed El-Mohammadi, Assistant Minister for Strategic Planning and Follow-up and Supervisor of the Central Administration for the Minister's Office; and Mr. Shady Zalata, Media Advisor and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry.
