"Education" holds a workshop to train teachers and students of outstanding schools of science and technology on satellite systems
Within the framework of activating the joint cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and the Egyptian Space Agency, the STEM Schools Unit for Excellence in Science and Technology (STEM) signed a cooperation document with the Egyptian Space Agency, where (3) educational satellites (Can sat) were delivered to STEM schools for each One of the outstanding schools in Obour, Maadi and October.
Dr. Aziza Rajab, Director General of Science Development and Supervisor of the Outstanding Schools Unit, explained that each school has been given an educational satellite (Can sat) to train school students in a practical way on satellite systems and its functions, how to launch and operate them and obtain data from them, and three teachers were trained from Each of the three schools through a workshop at the headquarters of the Egyptian Space Agency (EGSA) on assembling and testing the educational satellite, and each of these schools was delivered an educational satellite.
She added that teachers will train students in their schools, as the idea of an educational satellite depends on the use of simple components that students can handle easily and can simulate the functions of the main sub-systems found in the large satellite, such as power systems, remote sensing camera, communication system and interface identification. GPS and Computer.
This moon is dropped from a height of a few hundred meters by a balloon or a small plane, where the moon descends slowly by means of a "parachute" and the students communicate with the moon during its descent by sending commands to it and receiving data from it wirelessly by a small ground station (laptop) to simulate what is done with The real moon, stressing that it is a golden opportunity to train students in space technology to do their own project to be a pioneer in space sciences in the future to advance our beloved Egypt and keep pace with technological development.
She indicated that 16 educational satellites will continue to be delivered to the remaining schools of excellence in science and technology in all governorates, and school officials will be trained to operate them, as in the previous three schools, according to a timetable that will be determined later.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Education and Technical Education has signed a cooperation protocol with the Egyptian Space Agency in the field of scientific activities and cultural awareness in the field of space technology, with the aim of achieving support for research, studies and educational programs in the field of space science and technology, encouraging benefiting from its results and participating in preparing rehabilitation and training programs in schools. and universities, and work to raise the scientific and cultural level with space technology at all levels of study due to the importance of its role in building the human being and the nation.
