Today, Dr. Mohamed Megahed, Deputy Minister of Education for Technical Education, witnessed the launch of workshops for the production of competencies for the curricula of international schools of applied technology, organized by the Egypt Workforce Project funded by the US Agency for International Development for each of: El Sewedy International School of Applied Technology in Giza Governorate (6 October) Specialized in software development, and Misr International Insurance School of Applied Technology in Minya Governorate, specialized in marketing financial services.
The educational model of these schools, developed by the USAID-funded Egypt Manpower Project, is based on preparing skilled and qualified students who are able to meet the ever-changing business environment and arm students with well-prepared curricula and modern technology, which is vital to the education and development process, and the model of these schools is unique In developing a specialized curriculum in accordance with the methodology of competency-based education, outstanding students are prepared to be able to work efficiently in the specialization aligned with the needs of the private sector partner.
The model of these schools will also ensure that graduates acquire digital, practical and technological competencies by having an educational environment that puts digital, technology and experiential work-based learning at the fore.
The launch of workshops to produce competencies for the specializations of software development and marketing of financial services, in partnership between the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and the private sector represented by El Sewedy Electrometer and Misr Insurance Company in parallel, and in the presence of a constellation of private sector actors in the two fields.
In the field of software development, there was a presence from Cisco, Valeo, Sofco, Al Khalifa Software Group and other companies. and Misr Clearing Company) and others, and it is expected that these workshops will result in the production of competencies that fulfill the tasks of technicians in the two fields.
Dr. Mujahid also witnessed the workshop on developing evaluation guides for the competencies of the curriculum of the Fresh International School of Applied Technology for the manufacture of molds and molds, where he stressed the importance of involving industrialists in the evaluation process because graduates are the main exit for companies in that industry and by the end of that workshop there will be evaluation materials achieved For competencies in the manufacture of molds, its teaching plan matrix, the number of study hours, and another matrix for the equipment needed for assessment materials.
In the end, His Excellency inspected the trainings for capacity building of employment officials and labor market information in the schools in which the Egyptian workforce project operates in 11 governorates, and also attended some interactive activities during the training of a simulation model of interviewing these officials with employers and how to build confidence with them, and this training is part of A series of trainings carried out by a manpower project in Egypt to build the capacities of members of the labor market facilitation units, which provide guidance and career guidance services, entrepreneurship, innovation and employment.
It is worth noting that Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, signed six memoranda of understanding last month with a workforce project in Egypt funded by the US Agency for International Development and six private sector partners to establish six international schools for applied technology, namely: Fresh International School for Applied Technology In Sharkia Governorate (10th of Ramadan City), Ahmed Daifallah International School for Applied Technology in Assiut Governorate, and Fathallah International School for Applied Technology in Alexandria Governorate, Misr Insurance International School for Applied Technology in Minya Governorate, El Sewedy International School for Applied Technology in Giza Governorate (6th of October City) ), AfroEgypt International School for Applied Technology, Sharkia Governorate (Tenth of Ramadan City).
