The Minister of Education meets with the Director of the World Food Program office
Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, met with Praveen Agarwal, representative of the United Nations World Food Program in Egypt; To discuss aspects of cooperation between the Ministry and the World Food Program in the next stage.
This came in the presence of Rossla Vanelli, Deputy Representative and Director of the World Food Program, Duaa Arafa, Program and Policies Officer and Director of Social Protection, Muhammad Badran, Head of the Digitization and Innovation Department, Dr. Ahmed Daher, Deputy Minister for Technological Development, and Dr. Sherine Hamdy, Advisor to the Minister for Administrative Development and Supervisor of The Central Administration for Minister's Office Affairs, and Khaled Abdel Hakam, Head of the Central Administration for Reducing Educational Dropout.
Dr. Al-Wazir welcomed the attendees, praising the cooperation of the World Food Program with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education in many fields, and thanked the World Food Program for its permanent efforts to support community schools, as well as the school feeding program, stressing his aspiration for more cooperation, through the development of programs. existing and new programs.
Dr. Reda Hegazy confirmed that cooperation is continuing in the process of enhancing education within schools, explaining that the ministry is working on the axis of accessibility as well as reducing dropouts to bridge the sources of illiteracy and give an opportunity for students who have dropped out of education to enroll in education through community education schools.
For his part, Praveen Agrawal, Program Representative and Director of the WFP Office in Egypt, expressed his happiness in cooperating with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, as it is a strong partner of the Egyptian government in implementing programs that are in line with Egypt's vision for the year 2030, stressing the provision of all aspects of support to the Ministry, especially for children in communities most in need.
The meeting discussed reviewing the new five-year plan, which is being prepared by the World Food Program, which supports successful initiatives and cooperation with the Ministry during the next five years, focusing on proper nutrition for children in community schools, and changing bad eating habits at home.
During the meeting, they reviewed the joint cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Technical Education in partnership with the World Food Program, whereby the technological infrastructure of 500 community schools was developed, expertise and training were provided to the teachers of these schools, and an emphasis was placed on developing a plan to expand the scope of cooperation to complete the development in these schools.
