During his participation in the World Government Summit 2023 The Minister of Education participates in a panel discussion entitled "The Future of Digital Education... Opportunities and Challenges"
Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, participated in a session entitled "The Future of Digital Education... Opportunities and Challenges", within the framework of the World Government Summit 2023, which will be hosted by Dubai from February 13 to 15.
Dr. Reda Hegazy said that, based on the state’s belief in the utmost importance of the education file, and based on the state’s direction towards digital transformation in all fields, and the initiative of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi (Digital Egypt), the ministry has moved to experiment with digital transformation in education, so that the student becomes more Willingness to learn and innovate.
The minister indicated that the number of students in Egypt amounts to 25 million students, 60 thousand schools, and 2 million teachers and administrators, stressing that the ministry is working to integrate digital education into the educational program, and keep pace with changes in the world in digital education and artificial intelligence.
The minister added that the political leadership has a vision of caring for digital education, and this vision is reflected in the creation of the position of deputy minister for technological development, stressing that the ministry has digital content for all curricula from fourth grade to high school, in partnership with foreign and local companies.
The minister explained that the ministry is working to integrate technology into the educational program, through educational channels and platforms, in addition to receiving all high school students a “tablet” device through which electronic exams are conducted, in addition to that our children’s exams abroad are taken through the platform through exams. remotely, stressing the importance of achieving integration between technology and education, which was achieved during the current school year by integrating technology into the school day by adding classes to watch educational channels inside the school.
He added that the ministry started implementing this project to provide students with future skills, pointing out that the current generation is a digital generation and the most appropriate strategy with it is digital education, to be able to compete globally, pointing to the ministry's direction towards implementing this project as well as developing new curricula that enhance this trend. This will lead to an increase in the chances of putting young people at the beginning of the path towards future skills using the Internet.
The minister emphasized that in addition to training students, the ministry is also working on comprehensive rehabilitation and training programs for teachers, and continuous professional development for them, in order to achieve the digital transformation system in education, the most important of which is the student and the teacher.
The session was attended by Huda Al-Hashemi, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs in the UAE, and Dr. Walid Al-Ali, Secretary-General and member of the Board of Directors of the Digital School in the UAE.
