The Ministry of Education organizes the National Skills Competition - Egypt 2023

Under the patronage of Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education organized the National Skills Competition - Egypt 2023, which comes as part of Egypt’s preparations to participate in the WorldSkills competition, which will be held in Lyon, France, during the period from September 10 to 15. 2024.

The National Skills Competition - Egypt 2023 aims to develop the skills and abilities of technical education students and enhance their competitive spirit. The organization of this competition also reflects the strong commitment to developing technical education in accordance with Egypt’s Vision 2030, providing high-quality competition opportunities, displaying students’ skills, and enhancing the capabilities of talented youth in Egypt.

The Ministry explained that the tests for the first phase of the competition were conducted from December 8 to 9, 2023, where 1,515 male and female students applied for the test to participate in 15 different skills, such as renewable energy skills, IT network systems management, jewelry making, and lathe using computer programming. The first stage was passed by 75 male and female students, and five students were selected for each skill.

The Ministry indicated that preparations are currently underway for the second phase of the competition, which will take place from December 21 to 23, 2023, where the practical qualifiers will include selecting the top three students in each skill through tests conducted in the form of implementing a practical project that will last for three consecutive days.

The second phase of the competition will witness the selection of the top students in each skill based on their performance in the practical test, which will last for three days. The competition is an opportunity for students to nominate themselves to participate in the global competition.

It is worth noting that this competition comes in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation “Employment Support Project” GIZ-EPP and the Federation of Industries, which enhances strong partnerships and international cooperation in organizing and implementing this competition.
