The Minister of Education and the Minister of Youth and Sports discuss ways to enhance cooperation

Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, met with Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two ministries. This would contribute to the implementation of programs and initiatives that support young people and contribute to building the character of Egyptian students and developing them physically, culturally, and psychologically.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif praised the strong relationship and ongoing coordination between the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. He also valued the joint efforts exerted to implement various activities aimed at supporting students in various aspects. He emphasized that this cooperation reflects the spirit of integration between state institutions and is an important step towards preparing a generation that contributes to the nation's progress. He emphasized that education and sports are two sides of the same coin, as education is complemented by sports, and sports are complemented by education.
Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif highlighted the vital role of school sports in developing students' skills, emphasizing the Ministry's commitment to developing this sport according to the best international standards, in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports. He emphasized the importance of linking schools with youth centers and sports facilities to promote sports activities, discover and nurture talent, and raise students' health and psychological awareness.
The Minister of Education explained that cooperation between the two ministries constitutes a fundamental pillar in supporting the educational process by providing diverse activities both inside and outside schools. These activities contribute to honing students' skills and enhancing the values of belonging and teamwork. He noted that the Ministry seeks to harness students' energies and nurture their talents, in line with the state's vision to build the Egyptian individual within an integrated framework that encompasses cognitive, physical, and emotional aspects.
Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif emphasized the importance of activating a strong and comprehensive school league to discover sports talents, emphasizing the need for all students from all governorates to participate, ensuring equal opportunities for discovering talent. He emphasized the importance of implementing this league in a professional and thoughtful manner, and pointed out the readiness of schools to implement it, especially during the summer, as artificial turf fields will be equipped in at least three to four public schools in each educational administration.
For his part, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, expressed his happiness with this fruitful meeting, praising the constructive cooperation with the Ministry of Education, which has resulted in the implementation of numerous events and activities targeting school students in various governorates. He emphasized the Ministry of Youth and Sports' keenness to strengthen this cooperation and develop programs for young people.
Dr. Ashraf Sobhi praised the breakthrough achieved by Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif in the education system and the efforts made to address the chronic challenges facing the educational process. He emphasized the importance of developing school sports, skill development, and talent discovery by reviving the school league and activating the role of youth centers in supporting students.
The meeting addressed several key topics, most notably the arrangements related to launching the nationwide school league and its role in supporting physical activities within schools, as well as developing the national project for physical fitness within schools and identifying sports talent.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed to form a joint technical committee from the Ministries of Education and Youth and Sports to coordinate and manage the School League project for the 15-18 age group, in preparation for its announcement in the coming period.

From the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, the meeting was attended by Dr. Ahmed Daher, Deputy Minister; Dr. Iman Hassan, Head of the Central Administration for Student Activities; Ms. Zahra Salim, Director General of the General Administration for Physical Education; and Mr. Tamer Mohamed Fikry, Supervisor of Physical Education for Boys and Girls.
